Step into an evening of exquisite musical splendor with 'Handel’s Messiah by Candlelight' at the breathtaking St Mary Le Strand Church.

Handel’s Messiah is adored worldwide and undeniably a magnificent composition. However, it tends to be lengthy! A complete performance can approach three hours, and shorter versions typically omit entire sections. We believe this is unfortunate, as audiences miss out on much of the beautiful music. That’s why this concert presents our brand‐new edition of Messiah, including every movement from the piece – only in a condensed form. This approach maintains the work's overall structure while keeping the narrative engaging.

All concerts are performed by The L’Inviti Singers. The L’Inviti Singers is a chamber choir comprising singers handpicked from the UK's major churches and cathedrals (St Paul's, Westminster Abbey etc) and internationally renowned chamber groups (The Sixteen, Tenebrae etc).

Directed by David Guest, who is a Cambridge University graduate with particular expertise in vocal and choral music. David originally trained as a singer, and performed with internationally‐renowned ensembles including Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Les Arts Florissants and The Academy of Ancient Music, and is now the Musicial Director of The L’Inviti Singers.
