Yuya Wang plays Barber and Prokoviev in Rome
Rome, Auditorium Parco della Musica — Sala Santa Cecilia
About the Event
A double billing with Yuja Wang, who returns to Santa Cecilia after a nine‐year absence: the Chinese superstar will perform with the Accademia Orchestra in a program dedicated to Barber and Prokofiev. In the first part of the concert, American conductor Eric Jacobsen makes his debut on the Santa Cecilia stage. For Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Yuja Wang will be the sole protagonist, acting as both pianist and conductor, as she has successfully done on multiple occasions in the world’s most prestigious concert halls – including Carnegie Hall and with the San Francisco Symphony.
Program
- Claude Debussy – La Mer
- Samuel Barber – Piano Concerto
- Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev – Piano Concerto No. 2
