The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra will perform Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 6 in A minor, the “Tragic” symphony, with Johannes Wildner, one of the foremost Austrian conductors, at the baton.

The past two years, orchestras worldwide have been celebrating the posthumous recognition of Gustav Mahler. The Shanghai Symphony joins the trend. After performing five Mahler symphonies (including the Chinese premiere of the Barshai edition of Symphony No.10) in the last season, the orchestra presents the composer’s "Tragic" Symphony, a work imbued with mystery.
