Capuchin Crypt & Museum Tour with Choral Concert
Rome, Casa per Ferie I Cappuccini
About the Event
Embark on a journey through the human soul, exploring the myriad ways spirituality has been expressed over the centuries via transcendent music and unparalleled art. An intimate group of guests will have the privilege of entering the ancient Hall of Rome’s Capuchin Convent, where they will be captivated by the voices of the Schola Romana Ensemble. These singers will perform timeless Gregorian chants and soulful hymns by Palestrina and other masters from the Sistine Chapel.
Enhancing this unique experience, guests will delve into the history of the Order of the Friars Minor through a tour of the Capuchin Museum. Here, they will admire Caravaggio’s masterpiece, “Saint Francis in Meditation.” The journey culminates with a visit to the awe‐inspiring Crypts: five rooms adorned with the bones of 4,000 Capuchin friars, residents of the Convent since the 17th century. Their intriguing symbolism and the profound reflection they evoke promise a spiritual afternoon not soon forgotten.
