Vibrations: Paris Opera Ballet
About the Event
Vibrations opens with Dreams This Way, created by Micaela Taylor, who is making her Paris Opera debut. Hailing from Los Angeles, the choreographer has developed an athletic language, marked by deliberately exaggerated facial expressions.
In Solo for Two, a piece with a paradoxical title and new to the repertoire, Mats Ek opts for simplicity to express the density of love in a couple, one of his favourite themes.
Arvo Pärt’s heart‐rending music is followed by Max Richter’s electric version of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in The Seasons’ Canon. Crystal Pite’s masterful piece, premiered in 2016 at the Paris Opera, has become a firm favourite with audiences, enchanted by the choreography’s visceral intensity.
