About the Event

A high‐octane evening with Teodor Currentzis and The Rite of Spring, which never fails to deliver.

Program

Stravinsky The Rite of spring
Shostakovich Concerto for violin No. 1 Op. 77

Greek conductor Teodor Currentzis and his Utopia Orchestra, which he formed in the summer of 2022, have already thrilled audiences with their performances on several occasions. The musician and conductor never fails to deliver and many people have experienced his performances as “a perilous ride towards the abyss, where every beat and counter‐beat is sharply articulated, every accent and every piercing sforzando is fiercely intense.” Building on this energy, his approach will bring a whole new dimension to The Rite of Spring. In the second half of the concert, the young Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovitch will showcase his elegance and technical poise in Concerto No. 1 by Shostakovich, which sparkles with fiendishly difficult cadences. This evening promises to be an emotional rollercoaster ride!
