Clémence De Forceville: “one of the most promising French violinists of her generation” — Daniel Barenboim

Her wide‐ranging activities as a soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster, and teacher make her an accomplished and versatile musician. She is currently the first violinist of the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and teaches at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse as an assistant to Philippe Graffin.

Born in 1991, she began playing the violin at the age of 4 and won her first international competitions at 9. Trained at the CNSMD in Paris under Olivier Charlier, then in Germany with Antje Weithaas and Mihaela Martin, she has benefited from the guidance of leading musical figures such as Daniel Barenboim, Alfred Brendel, András Schiff, and Miriam Fried in prestigious masterclasses (Ravinia, IMS Prussia Cove, Ozawa Academy…).

Clémence has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Baden‐Baden Philharmonic, the Brasov Philharmonic, the Portuguese National Symphony Orchestra, the South Westphalia Philharmonic, as well as the Paris Chamber Orchestra, the Catalan Chamber Orchestra, the New Europe Chamber Orchestra, and the United Strings of Europe ensemble, in a repertoire ranging from major classical concertos to contemporary premieres. She is a guest artist at numerous festivals (Folles Journées, La Roque d’Anthéron, Verbier, Flâneries Musicales de Reims, Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, Sonoro, Musikfest Parisienne…) and shares the stage with renowned artists: Renaud Capuçon, Philippe Graffin, Shani Diluka, Gérard Caussé, Gary Hoffman, David Kadouch, Anna Fedorova, Benedict Kloeckner, Adam Laloum, among others. A dedicated chamber musician, she was a member of the Hieronymus Quartet and the Sōra Trio, with whom she recorded the complete Beethoven trios for Naïve, an album acclaimed by international critics (Choc Classica 2021).

In October 2025, she released her first sonata album on Évidence with pianist Ismaël Margain, dedicated to Maurice Ravel and Mel Bonis, which received an enthusiastic reception.

A former principal violinist with the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and the Orchestre National de Lille, she regularly collaborates as a guest concertmaster with various ensembles and orchestras across Europe.

She plays a violin by Lorenzo Storioni (1777), generously loaned by the Boubo‐Music Foundation.

Antonio Vivaldi composed The Four Seasons in 1725, a masterful work of Baroque music. These four violin concertos—Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter—capture the changes of nature with evocative vividness. Vivaldi likely wrote accompanying sonnets, enriching the listener’s experience with scenes of birdsong, storms, and rustic dances. The dialogue between the solo violin and the orchestra highlights a narrative quality and demands both great technical virtuosity and a sensitivity to contrasts. The enduring appeal of The Four Seasons lies in its modern accessibility, captivating both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike. This complete concert performance offers an opportunity to rediscover the depth and unity of this classical masterpiece.

Held in the remarkable Saint‐Jean de Montmartre Church, a blend of Art Nouveau and early 20th‐century innovation, the concert promises a setting that enhances the music’s vitality. Its acoustics perfectly capture the homogeneous sound of the strings, creating an immersive experience. This unique fusion of the soloist’s excellence, the ensemble’s mastery, and a historic venue guarantees a concert of rare beauty, in perfect harmony between sound and space.
