Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at Eglise Saint‐Germain des prés: Orchestre et Choeur Hélios
Paris, Eglise Saint‐Germain‐des‐Prés — Main Hall
About the Event
The Orchestre and Choir Helios will perform Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle in the breathtaking setting of this beautiful French church.
Youth, ambition, eclecticism: the Orchestre Hélios founded in 2014, is imposing itself in the French orchestral landscape. It offers a wide variety of programmes, ranging from baroque to contemporary music. Its repertoire is both symphonic and choral.
One of the masterpieces of Rossini's sacred music, given here in its original version for soloists, choir, piano and accordion. With his solemn Little Mass, Rossini returns to a genre he had abandoned during his career as a composer: sacred music.
