Eiffel Tower
Paris, France
The Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave Eiffel and inaugurated on March 31,1889. It was the 'must see' of the Universal Exhibition commemorating the centennial of the French Revolution. Today the Eiffel tower is 324 metres high and weighs 10,100 tons. 2,500,000 rivets were necessary to assemble the 18,000 iron pieces forming the framework.
The Gustave Eiffel room, on the first floor, overlooks historic Paris.
