Kristina Mkhitaryan & Aigul Akhmetshina: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées — Main Hall
About the Event
Kristina Mkhitaryan and Aigul Akhmetshina, two brilliant voices that share a close rapport.
Offstage, soprano Kristina Mkhitaryan and mezzo Aigul Akhmetshina are old friends. It is a delight to see them on the stage as their friendship brings out the very best in them as singers. This was obvious in Carmen at Covent Garden, and more recently in Maria Stuarda at the Amsterdam Opera House. The vocal intensity illustrating the rivalry between Donizetti’s two queens pushed them to new heights. This first major Parisian performance by the two singers is not to be missed.
Bellini, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky‐Korsakov Airs and duets from I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Maria Stuarda, La Favorite, Eugene Onegin, The Tsar's Bride, The Queen of Spades
