Julie Roset & Adèle Charvet: Salle Gaveau
Paris, Salle Gaveau — Main Hall
About the Event
Francesco Geminiani is an almost legendary figure of the Baroque period: a brilliant violinist (undoubtedly one of the greatest of his time) and a student of Alessandro Scarlatti and Arcangelo Corelli, he influenced all of Europe. His name was mentioned in the same breath as those of Vivaldi and Handel (whom he met in London and with whom he performed). Julien Chauvin and Le Concert de la Loge invite us to rediscover this unjustly neglected composer, placing him alongside his two great contemporaries.
Centered on *La Foresta incantata*, which Geminiani composed in 1754 to accompany a pantomime at the Tuileries Palace and which resonates with the sounds of nature, this concert’s program features superb arias and duets from the operas of Handel and Vivaldi. The virtuosos of Le Concert de la Loge will literally carry two sparkling voices: soprano Julie Roset and mezzo‐soprano Adèle Charvet.
