About the Event
Francesco Piemontesi mounts an assault on two keyboard pinnacles by Schubert and Liszt.
We cannot repeat often enough that if there were ever to be a successor to Brendel and Radu Lupu in terms of integrity, beauty of sound, pianistic perfection and emotion, then Francesco Piemontesi would be the contender. For his new concert at the Théâtre des Champs‐Élysées, he will be returning with Schubert’s most hypnotic sonata — D 894 in G major — and the first book of Liszt’s Years of Pilgrimage. He is not just an exceptional performer of these two composers, but also a messenger.
