About the Event

Evgeny Kissin is at peak maturity with his core repertoire and with one of the most neglected figures of the Russian 20th century.

Evgeny Kissin has achieved an unrivalled level of musical maturity and interpretation, effortlessly mastering technical difficulties and laying bare the drama and nobility of his programmes. He is back with some of the key figures from his incredible career – Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninov. A prolific composer of symphonies (there are 27 in his catalogue), Nikolai Myaskovsky remains one of the most neglected figures of the Russian 20th century. This evening, Kissin has decided to give him his due by performing his Sonata No. 2 for a Parisian audience – and not before time. We welcome this opportunity to hear it.

Program

  • Frederic Chopin – Mazurkas Nos. 27, 29, 35, 39, 51
