Evgeny Kissin, Joshua Bell & Steven Isserlis: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées — Main Hall
About the Event
Evgeny Kissin is in good company with Joshua Bell and Steven Isserlis for another chamber music concert.
Evgeny Kissin is increasingly keen to tackle chamber music with partners who are clearly good friends and share the same commitment to excellence. After recently celebrating Shostakovich, he is back with his trio from Opus 67, followed by the trio that Tchaikovsky dedicated “to the memory of a great artist”, the recently deceased composer Nikolai Rubinstein. But he will open with the Danse fantastique by Solomon Rosowsky (1878‐1962). Rosowsky, who studied at the St Petersburg Conservatoire alongside Liadov and Rimsky‐Korsakov, subsequently became one of the founding members of the influential Society for Jewish Folk Music in St Petersburg. His music embraces the rich and varied Jewish musical heritage in this Danse fantastique composed in 1907.
