Dixit Dominus, Salve Regina & Stabat Mater: Théâtre des Champs‐Elysées
Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées — Main Hall
About the Event
A spiritually uplifting evening with Handel and Vivaldi conducted by Marc Minkowski.
Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater is very familiar but Vivaldi’s Stabat, while less frequently performed in concert, nevertheless showcases the composer’s deep spirituality. The Salve Regina and Dixit Dominus date from Handel’s first trip to Rome in 1707. This is an opportunity to listen to three beautiful sacred works from the baroque repertoire in a single evening. Marc Minkowski, one of the most inspired conductors of Handel, and his musicians will bring all their care and sensitive nuances to bear on these three gems.
