Chen Sa: Piano Recital at the Champs‐Elysées
Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées — Main Hall
About the Event
Chen Sa is the great Chinese classical pianist of her generation, and is all too rarely seen in France.
Chen Sa, who is 45 years old, and a winner of the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, and the Leeds and Van Cliburn international piano competitions, is the greatest Chinese classical pianist of her generation. Listening to her, it is striking to see the total commitment which she brings to her performances, with a constant focus on restraint, taste, and wit. As an artist she radiates class, but is very rarely seen on French stages. This concert is an opportunity to discover a major artist in repertoire ranging from Beethoven to Messiaen, including Chopin and Franck, four composers with whom she has very strong spiritual bonds.
