Barts Choir: Mozart's Requiem and Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine at Saint Sulpice
About the Event
In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of classical music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gabriel Fauré at Paris's treasured and world‐renowned Eglise Saint‐Sulpice.
An unfinished Requiem by a composer who died young, and a composition for which a nineteen‐year‐old won first prize in a competition in Paris.
Despite all the speculation about the composition of Mozart's Requiem, it remains one of his defining works.
Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine was composed exactly 100 years before the creation of the Barts Choir, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.

It was ok despite the bad acoustics in St Sulpice. The solo singers, especially the counter‐tenor, were enjoyable. Uncomfortable seating (we get you have no control over that) so glad it was only an hour. Although expensive for so short a concert.

L'orgue étouffait le choeur. Il n'y avait pas assez de choristes hommes. Le sopraniste solo avait une très belle voix. it
