Andris Poga & the Labèque Sisters: Poulenc & Franck
About the Event
Andris Poga, assistant conductor of the Orchestre de Paris, has agreed to replace George Prêtre who, due to health reasons and to his great regret, will be unable to lead this concert.
Originally scheduled César Franck Symphony in D minor is no longer in the program and will be replaced by the Symphony No. 5 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The tremendous trio of performers, with the expert accompaniment of the Orchestre de Paris, will present Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos. Poulenc's The Model Animals, a brief ballet based on fables of La Fontaine and written under German occupation in 1942, will be performed by the Orchestre de Paris for the first time on this occasion.
