About the Event

Amel Brahim‐Djelloul and Thomas Keck invite you on a musical odyssey along the shores of the Mediterranean, showcasing a heritage shared by different cultures. We journey between Spain and Algeria, across centuries and borders. The program notably blends Spanish melodies from all eras: the ancient ones of the legendary Al‐Andalus or the Sephardic community, as well as those of our modern era, centered on Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados, and Federico García Lorca. Kabyle songs—including those by the great Idir (who passed away in 2020)—round out this fascinating exploration of the prodigious riches of the cultures surrounding the Mediterranean. The alchemy between Amel Brahim‐Djelloul’s luminous voice and Thomas Keck’s finely crafted playing offers an intimate reinterpretation of these masterpieces, in which the guitar becomes, in turn, an orchestra, a lute, or a percussion instrument.
