Join the festivities of Diwali, India's renowned Festival of Lights, through an enthralling concert featuring Grammy‐winning tabla maestro Sandeep Das! Diwali, rooted in ancient mythology, commemorates Lord Rama’s triumph over the wicked King Ravana and the Goddess Kali’s vanquishing of ignorance and darkness. This evening's program will capture the festival’s spirit—light triumphing over darkness and hope prevailing over despair. The repertoire will feature shastriya sangeet, the classical music of the Indian subcontinent, representing both a contemporary living tradition and a symbol of the ancient world, developed over more than 4,000 years.
