De Falla/Sibelius/Perez: Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano
Milan, Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo — main
About the Event
Two nations, two musical landscapes. On one side, the icy expanse of Finland, where Jean Sibelius stands as a towering figure in music on the other, the warm breezes of Andalusia, the homeland of Manuel de Falla, a cultural crossroad brimming with allure. This program unfolds as a series of symphonic impressions, where music becomes a 'feast of timbres and rhythms,' brilliantly capturing the unique and spellbinding scenes of these two countries: from La vida breve to Noches en los jardines de España for piano and orchestra, culminating in Sibelius' majestic Symphony No. 2, the quintessential 'sound manifesto' of Finnish heritage.
Program
- Manuel de Falla – La Vida breve — Danza Española 1
- Manuel de Falla – "Noches en los jardines de España" per pianoforte e orchestra

Orchestra: | Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi Known colloquially as 'La Verdi', Milan's famed symphony orchestra was formed in the early 90s to supplement the city's already‐generous cultural offering. Making its home in Milan's Auditorio, La Verdi features among Europe's most respected and admired symphonic ensembles. Its first Musical Director, Ricardo Chailly, now holds the title of Conductor Laureate, while the Austrian conductor, Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, a fast‐rising star in the orchestral firmament took over the role of Musical Director in 2024, following in the footsteps of several major names in the classical world.
