Beethoven/Strauss/Letonja: Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano
Milan, Auditorium di Milano Fondazione Cariplo — main
About the Event
After two decades, conductor Marko Letonja returns to the Auditorium, offering a program that intertwines two key elements of symphonic music: Beethoven's Fourth Symphony, rich with heroic ideals, and the dramatic flair of Strauss. The program features two masterpieces by the illustrious Austrian composer: the Suite from Die Frau ohne Schatten, a peak of collaboration with Hugo von Hofmannsthal, and the Vier letzte Lieder. Strauss's profound and fervent farewell captures his final bow from the musical realm, demonstrating his exceptional skill in conveying profound human emotions.
Program
- Ludwig van Beethoven – Sinfonia n. 4 in si bemolle maggiore op. 60
- Richard Strauss – Four Last Songs for Soprano and Orchestra
- Richard Strauss – "Frau ohne Schatten" (La donna senz'ombra) Suite
