About the Event
Pairing a celebrated orchestral masterpiece with a new concerto and one of the most beloved overtures in the operatic repertoire, this program brings together Italian theatrical tradition, contemporary creation, and the symphonic imagination of Antonín Dvořák.
The evening opens with Giuseppe Verdi’s *La forza del destino* Overture, a work that distills the drama, passion, and lyrical power of the opera into a brilliantly crafted orchestral introduction. The program also features a *Concerto for Viola and Orchestra*, with the composer and soloist to be announced, offering audiences the opportunity to encounter a new contribution to the concerto repertoire.
The concert concludes with Dvořák’s *Symphony No. 9 in E minor*, *“From the New World.”* Composed during the composer’s stay in the United States, the symphony combines memorable melodies, folk‐inspired rhythms, and a powerful sense of discovery, creating one of the most enduring works in the orchestral canon.
Conducted by Nir Kabaretti, the program brings together works of striking contrast and character, spanning different eras, traditions, and musical perspectives.
