About the Event

Bringing together three centuries of musical history, this program explores the evolution of orchestral expression through the contrasting voices of Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Maurice Ravel.

The evening opens with Bach’s *Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major*, BWV 1046, a work distinguished by its vitality, inventiveness, and vibrant interplay between instrumental groups. Beethoven’s *Symphony No. 3 in E‐flat major*, Op. 55, *“Eroica,”* follows, a landmark of the symphonic repertoire whose unprecedented scale and dramatic power transformed the course of orchestral music.

The program concludes with Ravel’s *Le tombeau de Couperin*, a work of elegance, clarity, and subtle emotional depth. Written as a tribute to friends lost during the First World War and inspired by the spirit of French Baroque music, it combines refinement, nostalgia, and brilliantly crafted orchestral color.

Conducted by Foron, the concert places three distinctive musical worlds side by side, revealing enduring connections between tradition, innovation, and artistic imagination.
