Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Mozart and the Women — Martina Gedeck & Sebastian Knauer
Meissen, Theater Meissen — Main
About the Event
Internationally acclaimed actress Martina Gedeck and renowned pianist Sebastian Knauer take you on an atmospheric journey through time in words and music, following in the biographical footsteps of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. None other than Baroness Martha Elisabeth von Waldstätten, once his close confidante and a well‐known figure in Viennese aristocratic society, chats candidly in an imaginary soliloquy about the composer and the important women in his life. These include his wife Constanze, her sister Aloisia Weber, Bäsle alias Marianne Thekla Mozart, and Nancy Storace, the first Susanna in “Figaro.” Works penned by Mozart that are closely connected to some of his piano students accompany the confessions melodiously and provide a unique, humorous, and at times intimate glimpse into the great composer and his emotional life.
