Verdi’s powerful Simon Boccanegra returns to the Real in an impressive production directed by Pierre Audi, with a set designed by one of the world’s most famous sculptors, Anish Kapoor. Nicola Luisotti brings the score to life, with Ludovic Tézier and Danel Luis de Vicente in the title role, alongside Hrachuhí Bassénz, Mané Galoyan, John Relyea, Alexander Vinogradov, Gianluca Buratto, Francesco Meli, Piero Pretti, Germán Enrique Alcántara or Simón Orfila, among others.
Opera in a prologue and three acts.
Music by Giuseppe Verdi (1813‐1901).
Libretto by Francesco Maria Piave y Arrigo Boito, (revision of 1881), after Antonio García Gutiérrez’s play Simón Bocanegra (1843).
