Madrid’s Teatro Real welcomes travelers into the moonlit, emotionally charged world of Norma, Vincenzo Bellini’s celebrated bel canto masterpiece.
Justin Way’s production of Bellini’s opera Norma returns to the Real, with musical direction by Francesco Lanzillotta and John Fiore. An opera within an opera, it explores sisterhood, religious fanaticism and maternity. The cast features Lisette Oropesa, Jessica Pratt, Lidia Fridman and Marina Rebeka in the title role, alongside Aigul Akhmetshina, Rihab Chaieb, Raffaella Lupinacci, Javier Camarena, Dmitry Korchak, Francesco Demuro, Riccardo Fassi, Krzysztof Baczyk and Maharram Huseynov, among others.
