About the Event

A world premiere from Joseph Cabon opens this richly English first half, framed by Howells at his most rhapsodic and elegiac. Peter Cigleris, a clarinettist with a growing reputation for his work uncovering British rarities, joins our Artistic Director Simon Callaghan for the soaring Clarinet Sonata, before the Piatti Quartet turn to Tchaikovsky’s youthful, melody‐laden First Quartet to close a concert that pairs discovery with deep romantic warmth.

The event begins with a pre‐concert talk with Dr Jonathan Clinch, organist and lecturer at Royal Academy of Music, who specialises in British music over the last two centuries.
