RPO x Vasily Petrenko: Wallen, Beethoven, Strauss
London, Royal Albert Hall — Main Hall
About the Event
Strauss, Beethoven, and Errollyn Wallen bring the house down as the RPO turns 80
A major anniversary calls for an even bigger celebration, and since the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is turning 80, that’s exactly what we’re hosting tonight—live from the spectacular setting of the Royal Albert Hall, where the RPO is proud to serve as the resident orchestra.
We look to the future with a rousing new fanfare by the master of royal music, Errollyn Wallen CBE. We invite friends to join us as the world‐class trio of Julia Fischer, Pablo Ferrández, and Jan Lisiecki comes together for Beethoven’s joyful Triple Concerto. Above all, we’ll make music in the grandest style possible when Vasily Petrenko conducts Richard Strauss’s generous tale of love, art, and the sheer brilliance of a magnificent orchestra that will make the hall tremble. Consider this your official invitation to the party!
