RPO x Vasily Petrenko: Wallen, Beethoven, Strauss
London, Royal Albert Hall — Main Hall
About the Event
Strauss, Beethoven, and Errollyn Wallen Light Up the RPO's 80th Anniversary.
A milestone anniversary deserves an extraordinary festivity, and with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra marking 80 years, we're set to deliver exactly that tonight—broadcast live from the magnificent Royal Albert Hall, where the RPO proudly holds its position as the resident orchestra.
Embracing the future, we open with a stirring new fanfare by royal music maestro, Errollyn Wallen CBE. We're thrilled to welcome our friends as the world‐class ensemble of Julia Fischer, Pablo Ferrández, and Jan Lisiecki unites for Beethoven’s exuberant Triple Concerto. Ultimately, music will shine at its most opulent as Vasily Petrenko leads Richard Strauss’s lavish narrative of love, art, and the stunning prowess of a mighty orchestra set to make the hall resonate. Consider this your formal invitation to the celebration!
