RPO: Debussy, Saint‐Saëns and Dukas
London, Cadogan Hall — Main Hall
About the Event
Experience France in a unique way. Imagine moonbeams transforming into shimmering poetry or a fairytale told through music so vivid, it inspired Disney's Fantasia. Picture a piano concerto composed during a Nile cruise, capturing the sunlight, the bustling life, and even the croaking frogs experienced by Saint‐Saëns on his Egyptian adventure. This feast of French musical fantasy, led by Alain Altinoglu, one of the most brilliant and inspiring figures in the French music scene today, offers it all. The outstanding Polish‐born pianist Lucas Krupinski takes on Saint‐Saëns’ joyous ‘Egyptian’ Concerto, while Nora Gubisch brings Chausson’s ecstatic Poème to life: ‘The sea hurls itself into the sun’s great embrace / they kiss on soft sand, where rolling breakers shine…’
