(c) Ali Wright Opera Holland Park
London, United Kingdom
Every year, Holland Park, set in the middle of two of London's most prestigious suburbs, comes alive with the sound of grand opera. Britain is famous for its summer 'country house opera' season, and Opera Holland Park has become an integral part of opera lovers' favourite time of year — all the glamour, charm, and quality music, without the need to leave London's Tube Zone 1!
Known for unexpected and daring programming, usually featuring a verismo rarity alongside canon standards, the team behind Opera Holland Park have focused on turning the temporary amphitheatre, erected every season, into a fabulous home for opera in central London. Casting established stars alongside up‐and‐coming names, Opera Holland Park attracts crowds ranging from committed opera fans to families experiencing the art for the first time. Visitors can choose to bring a picnic or pre‐order a hamper from a leading London caterer, to eat in the park or at one of the various tables available for reservation on site to complete the summer opera experience.
