The concert includes much‐loved masterpieces by Grieg, such as 'Morning' and the thrilling drama of In the Hall of the Mountain King, from his Peer Gynt suite. The emotional depth of Elgar’s Nimrod (from the Enigma Variations) follows, a timeless tribute to friendship and remembrance. The evening concludes with a tour de force performance of Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor—a masterpiece of Romantic expression, brimming with bold rhythms and sweeping melodies.

Particularly known for his interpretations of Chopin, Mailley‐Smith gives regular solo performances in some of central London's most prominent chamber music and recital venues, including St John's Smith Square and the Wigmore Hall.
