Debussy Preludes by Candlelight — Strand International Piano Series with Caroline Tyler
London, St Mary Le Strand Church
About the Event
St Mary le Strand, known as the 'Jewel' of the Strand, proudly hosts the third Strand International Piano Series, following its celebrated debut in the 2022‐23 season.
This year's series theme centers on Debussy's Preludes. Created between 1909 and 1913, these works exemplify Debussy's pioneering approach to piano music and his command of impressionistic techniques. Each of the two books of preludes, containing twelve pieces each, highlights Debussy's skill in conjuring vivid imagery, moods, and atmospheres through music.
Caroline Tyler, an award‐winning concert pianist and first‐class honors graduate of The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, trained under the celebrated piano teacher, Professor Joan Havil. Caroline has graced concert halls across the UK and Europe, including London's Barbican Concert Hall and Prague's Martinu Concert Hall. She is also the first‐prize winner of several national and international piano competitions.
