About the Event
In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of classical music performed by the Gewandhausorchester at Leipzig's treasured and world‐renowned Gewandhaus zu Leipzig.
The symphonic concerts with the Gewandhaus Orchestra in the Gewandhaus are called “Große Concerte” (Grand Concerts). The name pays homage to the founding fathers of the orchestra, whose first formation was engaged by the music association “Das Große Concert,” founded in 1743. Members of this music association were nobles and citizens of the city.

Conductor, Staging: | Andrés Orozco‐Estrada Andrés Orozco‐Estrada was born in 1977 in Medellin (Columbia). At the age of five he started to play the violin, at the age of 15 he conducted the orchestra of his Music High school. In 1992 he started to study conducting. From 1997 to 2003 he persued his conducting studies in the master class of Uros Lajovic at the Vienna Music Academy. |
