About the Event
In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of classical music performed by the Gewandhausorchester at Leipzig's treasured and world‐renowned Gewandhaus zu Leipzig.
The symphonic concerts with the Gewandhaus Orchestra in the Gewandhaus are called “Große Concerte” (Grand Concerts). The name pays homage to the founding fathers of the orchestra, whose first formation was engaged by the music association “Das Große Concert,” founded in 1743. Members of this music association were nobles and citizens of the city.
