Concert of the Gewandhaus choirs at Gewandhaus
Leipzig, Gewandhaus zu Leipzig — Mendelssohn Saal
About the Event
In Leipzig's beloved Gewandhaus, hear the choirs of the Gewandhaus, excellent ensembles and outstanding soloists for a captivating performance.
Singing is the most original form of music‐making, and the voice is the oldest instrument in the world. It is an instrument that is available to everyone and can therefore provide direct and natural access to music. The Gewandhaus Choir and Gewandhaus Children's Choir guarantee this unadulterated access. Through the active participation of up to 150 singers in the Gewandhaus program, they ensure that Gewandhaus culture is firmly anchored in the city and build a bridge between passionate music‐making and music as a profession at the highest level. The two choir directors, Gregor Meyer and Frank‐Steffen Elster, never cease to fascinate with innovative projects of the highest musical quality, turning their concerts with the Gewandhaus choirs into captivating journeys of discovery. The choirs' work extends into all areas of the Gewandhaus: you can enjoy the choirs together with the Gewandhaus Orchestra, with the organ, in scenic or festive settings, or simply a cappella. Variety is the key to the Gewandhaus choirs' program, while the excellent quality of the choral singing remains constant.oncert of the Gewandhaus choirs at Gewandhaus
