Vivaldi – The Four Seasons at Stadtkirche Karlsruhe
Karlsruhe, Stadtkirche — Main
About the Event
Antonio Vivaldi's world‐famous cycle The Four Seasons is one of the most impressive sound paintings in music history. In four concertos, the composer tells of the awakening of spring, the shimmering heat of summer, the festive sounds of autumn, and the quiet cold of winter. Each concerto is a musical painting full of color, energy, and poetic observations of nature.
In addition to the famous Four Seasons, works from Boccherini to Mozart will be presented in the first part of the concert.
The Protestant City Church stands in the heart of Karlsruhe – a classicist building with clean lines and inviting brightness.
Its excellent acoustics lend the music a special spatial depth and make the nave an ideal venue for impressive concert evenings. Here, space, sound, and atmosphere merge into an intense listening experience.
The Dresden Residence Orchestra has been performing varied programs in concert churches and halls throughout Germany for many years. The ensemble's warm timbres and clear musical interpretation characterize its renditions of great Baroque and Classical works.
The orchestra is particularly looking forward to traveling to Karlsruhe to perform for the first time in the Protestant Stadtkirche and to give the audience an unforgettable concert full of intense musical expression.
