Practical Information
Wallpavillon
The concert hall in the Wall Pavilion is located on the upper level of the Dresden Zwinger opposite the Glockenspiel Pavilion. One path leads up from the inner courtyard of the Zwinger via curved steps. The second path leads from Theaterplatz over a small rampart — located to the right of the Alte Meister restaurant / Theaterplatz 1a and opposite the left side of the Semperoper Dresden — to the upper level. This access is barrier‐free, but only as far as the auditorium. There are three sandstone steps to climb. On concert days, signs will guide you to us. Due to the historical construction, the toilets and the hall are unfortunately not barrier‐free but only accessible via steps.
Artists
Orchestra: | Dresdner Residenz Orchester A small ensemble of talented young players, the Dresdner Residenz Orchester has been delighting visitors to Dresden's famous Zwinger Palace since its formation in 2013. Founded by Prof. Igor Malinovsky, the ensemble is acclaimed for its agility and adaptability, creating magical interpretations of works written for much larger forces alongside classic works for chamber orchestra by Vivaldi, Mozart and Johann Strauss. The Dresdner Residenz Orchester also appears as a guest ensemble at prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and the Munchener Residenz. |

Violin: | Igor Malinovsky The Russian‐born violinist, a previous prizewinner of the Menuhin and Sarasate competitions was first concertmaster of the Bayerisches Staatsorchester aged 24 and has gone on to hold equivalent positions in Berlin and Valencia. Now a professor of violin in Dresden and Barcelona, Malinovsky also leads the Dresdner Residenz Orchester, which he founded in 2013 to provide young virtuoso musicians with an essential intermediate step between conservatoire and independent professional careers. |
