Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Passionate Flamenco — Tomatito
Dresden, Kulturpalast — Main Hall
About the Event
It is considered the soul of Andalusia and embodies powerful emotions and electrifying energy like no other art form: flamenco. José Fernández Torres, known as Tomatito, one of the most gifted guitarists of our time, brings Spanish flair to the Kulturpalast. The five‐time Grammy winner comes from a true flamenco dynasty. His father and grandfather were well‐known guitar virtuosos who achieved fame under the name EL Tomate. Tomatito – which means “little tomato” in English – was promoted at a young age by legends such as Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla. The master of flamenco nuevo, who mixes jazz, bossa nova, and blues with traditional sounds, blends brilliant guitar music, passionate singing, and dance with his fellow musicians to create a fascinating artistic experience. Qué emoción!
