Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Meditative Sound Magic — Soumm — Enders — Sächsisches Vokalensemble — Jung
Dresden, Martin‐Luther Church — Main Hall
About the Event
The Saxon Vocal Ensemble and its artistic director Matthias Jung present true gems of choral literature under the title “Touches.” In a rarely heard combination of choir and solo string instruments, they have put together a sonically perfect and fascinating program, which was also released as an album in 2024. “The Saxon Vocal Ensemble succeeds […] impressively in touching the listener,” wrote an enthusiastic reviewer in FONO FORUM. The works penned by John Tavener, Wolfram Buchenberg, Knut Nystedt, and Pēteris Vasks invite contemplative pause and form an impressive respite in our hectic times. Violinist Alexandra Soumm and cellist Isang Enders shine as soloists, joining forces with the Dresden‐based choir to create a unique overall sound experience.
