Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Echo of an open world — Masaa
Dresden, Stromwerk — Kulturarena Kraftwerk Mitte
About the Event
Masaa – four musicians celebrating the evening: the moment when people come together, exchange ideas, and truly encounter one another. This is how the Lebanese band's name can be translated. Their music reflects a profound attitude – characterized by closeness, curiosity, and the desire for connection. The intensity that the ensemble creates in its music is so tangible and comprehensive that it makes you believe once again that music can move the world! At the Dresden Music Festival, Masaa will present the music from its new album, due for release in 2026, for the first time. In it, the quartet celebrates human connection through movement, trance, and communal singing. Like vagabonds, the four musicians have been on the road in recent years, traveling to countless countries such as Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, Ethiopia, China, Rwanda, Mozambique, Egypt, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan, Mexico, Colombia, and Taiwan. There they met people, listened to their stories and experiences, and used them to create new songs, rhythms, and hymns that create a unique community in their concerts.
