Dresdner Musikfestspiele: Cinema for the ears — Kian Soltani: “Cello Unlimited”
Dresden, Schauburg Dresden — Sergio‐Leone‐Saal
About the Event
Kian Soltani is one of the most innovative and creative artists on his instrument. His passion for films and their soundtracks has been with him since childhood. On the album “Cello Unlimited,” which won an “OPUS Klassik” award in the “Innovative Listening Experience” category, the musician has devoted himself to the great melodies of the silver screen and aims to “transport listeners into emotional and epic worlds.” As if he were the lead actor, supporting actor, director, and film crew all rolled into one, Soltani played every part himself—sometimes up to 40 voices! In the festival concert, fellow cellists provide the grand orchestral sound. In addition to famous melodies from well‐known films, two of his own works inspired by cinema will also be performed. And where better to stage this musical film extravaganza than Dresden's cult cinema Schauburg, built in the Golden Twenties according to the plans of architect Martin Pietzsch!
