The Danube Palace

The Danube Palace was established in 1895. The external facade was made by Mészáros and Gerstenberger, the architectural style of the building is neobaroque. Lajos Márk provided the murals on the walls inside of the theater. Since its opening, the Palace has excelled at patronising the arts: exhibitions and concerts have been held here, it has financed opera performances and organised competitions. Many famous people have given performances in the Casino such as Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály and Antonin Dvorak.
