Orchestre des Champs‐Elysées & Philippe Herreweghe
Brussels, Palais des Beaux‐Arts — Henry le Boeuf Hall
About the Event
This concert program by the Orchestre des Champs‐Elysées exudes grandeur. What else could one expect on the day Philippe Herreweghe celebrates his 80th birthday! His guests include world‐renowned stars such as soprano Regula Mühlemann, mezzo‐soprano Eva Zaïcik, tenor Werner Güra, and bass Thomas Bauer. The guest list is long, as this royal quartet will take the stage for W. A. Mozart’s Mass in C minor for orchestra and double choir. The Australian‐Belgian Nicola Boud will bring her 18th‐century Viennese clarinet for Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major, his last completed work. Absolute tranquility and understated virtuosity characterize this concert evening, which is entirely tailored to the accomplished Ghent musician. Three cheers for Herreweghe!
