Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra & Asmik Grigorian
Brussels, Palais des Beaux‐Arts — Henry le Boeuf Hall
About the Event
To mark Lithuania’s EU Council Presidency, a star‐studded Lithuanian cast is traveling to Brussels, including conductor Giedre Slekyte, tenor Edgaras Montvidas, and soprano Asmik Grigorian, who was named Singer of the Year (International Opera Awards 2025). The program will also be characterized by the colors yellow, green, and red, featuring music by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, the cultural pride of Lithuania. The most beautiful arias from operas such as “Lohengrin” (Wagner), “Madame Butterfly” (Puccini), and “I Lituani” (Ponchielli) could have been written specifically for these soloists. As a tribute to Bozar, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra will also perform a local work: Joseph Jongen’s “Fantasia, Op. 12” ripples like a stream in the Ardennes, yet swells like a Lithuanian lake.
