About the Event
Since winning the International Chopin Competition, Bruce Liu has become a regular fixture on the world’s major stages. In 2024, the Canadian pianist captivated audiences with Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2. It was only a matter of time before we invited him to perform a solo concert. Liu takes you on a journey from Ligeti’s modernist soundscape through the poetry of Chopin and the southern temperament of Albéniz to the impressionistic sounds of Ravel and Debussy, as well as the understated Mompou. The highlight of the evening is Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata, with which we will celebrate the 200th anniversary of his death in 2027.
