About the Event
“No instrument sounds as human as the cello,” wrote Dvořák. It is this warm, deeply human voice that characterizes his famous Cello Concerto, in which joy, tension, and lyricism intertwine. Star cellist Anastasia Kobekina lights up the stage with a sound that both swirls and settles, combining exuberance with serenity. Vasily Petrenko then unleashes Rachmaninoff’s Second Symphony: a powerful, monumental romantic breath in which melancholy and hope endlessly seek each other out. Music that not only resonates but moves you deeply and sweeps you away, never letting go.
