Nikola Meeuwsen, winner of the 2025 Queen Elisabeth Competition, brings this work to life with impressive clarity, a keen sense of drama, and a hauntingly beautiful Largo at its core. A completely different world opens up with Anton Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony, one of his most fascinating yet rarely performed masterpieces. Complex rhythms, harmonic expansiveness, and an organic architectural flow characterize a work that never ceases to surprise. Monumental themes alternate with moments of inner reflection, while the music soars like a mighty cathedral of sound.
Under the baton of Antony Hermus, this symphonic Sunday becomes an intense listening experience in which physical presence and pure musicality merge into a concentrated yet rich journey.
