Bologna Festival: Trio Rinaldo
Bologna, Cortile dell’Archiginnasio
About the Event
Trio Rinaldo performs Dvorák in the sumptuous Cortile dell'Archiginnasio in Bologna.
Dumky is the plural of dumka, from the Slavic verb dumati, “to ponder”. The term also denotes an elegiac‐narrative ballad in which moments of intense reflection intertwine with the epic tale of heroes. One cannot truly enter Dvořák’s rustic, vibrant world without passing through his four piano trios the last of them, poised between introspection and sudden rhythmic surges, reveals the passage from Brahmsian discipline to an expressive freedom rooted in vernacular language—accents deeply embedded in the DNA of Trio Rinaldo, shaped at Chigiana, the Stauffer Academy and within the Avos Project, and recently hailed by Italian critics as “best emerging ensemble” at the latest Premi Abbiati.
