Bologna Festival: Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI, Kirill Petrenko
About the Event
Experience the sublime strains of classical masters Ludwig van Beethoven and Béla Bartók at the illustrious Auditorium Manzoni in Bologna, a venue celebrated globally for its exceptional acoustics and historic charm.
The partnership between the RAI National Symphony Orchestra and the distinguished Kirill Petrenko, a Russian‐born conductor with Austrian nationality who took the helm at the Berliner Philharmoniker in 2019, first began in 2001 with a memorable rendition of Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier. Since then, Petrenko's innovative concert selections have consistently captivated audiences. In their latest assembly, he introduces Beethoven’s vastly underrated Second Symphony in the initial segment, followed by Bartók’s intensely evocative and sensuous concert suite, The Miraculous Mandarin, as the concert’s exhilarating conclusion.
